OWEN (SANDERS), CORA FLORENCE Ashland Gazette 3-5-1925 Cora Florence Sanders, daughter of Jacob & Siche Sanders, was born one mile north of Ashland, where she grew to womanhood, getting her education in the Ashland High School. She was united with the Methodist Episcopal Church of Ashland, when about 15 years of age and remained true in faith until death. She was united in marriage to Thomas E. Owen, September 28, 1886. They made their home on their farm joining Memphis where they remained until moving to Memphis in 1920, where she spent the remainder of her days. She departed this life in the Methodist Hospital in Omaha February 25, 1925, at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 18 days. To this union were born three children, Howard A., Mrs. Maude A. Hall and Floyd S. Owen, all of Memphis. Mrs. Owen was a home loving woman, a kind and affectionate wife and a loving mother. A good neighbor and friend. She leaves her husband, three children, three grandchildren and a brother and many relatives and friends to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Iliff Chapel, Memphis, Nebraska. Rev. W. N. Wallis of Ashland was in charge. Music by ladies' quartet. Burial was in Ashland Cemetery.
