J. W. GERMAN Former Resident, Died on April 11, 1944 Dent German received word last Wednesday, April 12, that his father, J. W. German had passed away at the home of his oldest son, Harley J., in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. German was an old resident of Nebraska, having been in business here as manager of the Beetison store eight years, and later connected with a shoe store. He was born in Cuba, New York, Nov. 23, 1851, and departed this life April 11, 1944. He was married to Miss Henrietta Owens of Memphis, Nebr., who with two sons preceded him in death. There are three sons and one daughter, Harley J., Jefferson D. and Denton C. of this city and Bertha M. Parrish left to mourn his loss. Before coming to Nebraska he had taught school in New York a number of years. Then he located in Ashland. After his marriage he and his bride made their home in Wymore, Nebr., where he was in business and also served as justice of the peace for three years. Later they located in Missouri, where he made his home until six years ago when he went to Pittsburgh, PA. Older residents of this city no doubt will remember Mr. German as he visited here as long as his health would permit.
